Two Unique Businesses Open in Maryland Heights
In the last couple months, two very different businesses have opened in our city. Both of these businesses have only a few locations in the St. Louis area and we are fortunate that they've made Maryland Heights their home.
In November, FLOAT Stl opened up their second location at 127 B Weldon Parkway. FLOAT Stl provides patrons with a nearly zero-gravity salt tank where they can completely shut off busy minds during a 90 minute float. They provide towels, robes, ear plugs and a shower before and after your float. The 850 lbs of salt keep you from sinking and the water is kept at 93.5 degrees.
Many agree that floating provides both a mental and physical break needed from our busy lives. The effect of turning everything off and relaxing in a tank has made a positive impact on moods. The Epsom Salt used is absorbed by the body and has been reported to have many health benefits. 90 minute floats are $65 and can be booked online. FLOAT Stl can be reached at (314) 833-3444 or visit www.floatingstl.com.
Where FLOAT Stl specializes in turning your brain off and relaxing, Escape Challenge St. Louis at 11978 Dorsett Road does the complete opposite. They've managed to turn rooms into themed mysteries. Groups of two to 10 people are "locked" inside a room and get 60 minutes to search the room for hidden
items, answers to puzzles, codes to open doors and safes, and ultimately put together enough pieces of the puzzle to "escape" the room. The rooms are designed to be challenging for adults but they do welcome children as young as nine years old if they are accompanied by adults. Entry for a room starts at $26.00 per person. Groups can reserve an entire room for themselves. For more information, visit
