Maryland Heights, as a place within a metropolitan context, competes with other municipalities for services, jobs and development, including residential, commercial and industrial. The purpose of this framework is to define those elements that provide a direction for future growth and development that is economically viable and enhances the city’s identity and visual appearance in order to strengthen Maryland Heights' position as a desirable residential community, a major commercial center and as the hospitality center of the region.
This staff-generated report is intended to provide useful background information to all those interested in the Westport Planning Area before the Planning Commission begins formal discussion of an update to the plan.
