Welcome to the Maryland Heights Police and Fire Department's
Little Free Library!
Located at Firehouse #2, 12828 Dorsett Rd.
What is a Little Free Library?
A Little Free Library is a "take a book, return a book" free book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes but the Maryland Heights Police/Fire Little Free Library is a small wooden box of books. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share.
There are more than 70,000 registered Little Free Library book-sharing boxes in 85 countries worldwide. The Maryland Heights Police/Fire Little Free Library is located at Maryland Heights Firehouse #2, 12828 Dorsett Rd., at Dorsett Rd and Garden Ln. This location is in a parking lot, under a parking light and is monitored by video surveillance. We want people to feel safe coming to our Little Free Library. Future plans include a bench and a dog leash hook. Both the Police and Fire Departments are very excited about this program!
We are celebrating the creation of our Little Free Library with our Reading Club. Kids, ages 3 to 15 can participate. Just download the Reading Club Flyer below, print it off and start counting the books that your child reads! Kids will need to read 11 books, write down the title and date and then a parent/guardian will sign the bottom of the form. Once they complete their 11 book goal, contact Officer Erica Stough at firstname.lastname@example.org or through our Facebook, Nextdoor, Twitter or Instagram accounts and we will arrange for your child to receive a prize.
We encourage everyone to use our Little Free Library. Take a book and return a book. Book donations are welcome.
We want kids to put those phones down, put the video games away and start reading! We hope this Reading Club encourages them to do so.
