The City's Citizens Academy, more formally known as Maryland Heights University, provides participants a comprehensive overview of city government with unites on finance and budgeting, planning/zoning, economic development, parks and recreation, public works, police and more. Please note that this is a different program than the Police Department's Citizens Academy because this course covers all city departments and service areas.
Class will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-9:00 p.m. from August 21 to September 18. A graduation ceremony will be held at the September 19 City council meeting. Most classes will take place in the Municipal Court Room at the Government Center (11911 Dorsett Road), although a few will meet at other city facilities.
Enrollment will continue through 11:59 p.m. on August 20 or until the class fills. Maximum capacity is 25 students. For more information, please contact Gabby Macaluso at firstname.lastname@example.org or (314) 738-2204.
