Presentation Tonight on Maryland Heights Community by 2014 CORO Fellows

Cities compete for residents the way businesses compete for customers.  How does Maryland Heights stack up?  What can we do to position ourselves for future success?

The City of Maryland Heights will host an interactive Community Forum on the Future of Maryland Heights on February 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Maryland Heights Centre (2344 McKelvey Road). All are encouraged to attend.  Attendees can come and go anytime between 5 and 8 p.m. at this open house style meeting.

The Forum will focus on two issues, housing and potential development in what is called the Howard Bend Planning Area which is a less developed area of the city between the Missouri River and Highway 364/Maryland Heights Expressway. Participants will have opportunities to learn about the issues, interact with city staff, and provide their input.

The Forum is part of a planning process that will update the city’s comprehensive plan. Comprehensive plans guide future development, providing direction in terms of transportation, utilities, recreation, housing and land use.

To learn more about the comprehensive plan update and critical issues, see the City’s comprehensive plan page.
