During the Fall Family Fair in 2021, the community to decorated stepping stones in her honor. These stones were placed near the Community Center and Aquaport.

The Maria's Backpacks School Supply Drive was also created in her memory. Every summer on Maria's Birthday (July 3), the City of Maryland Heights will be accepting school donations at various drop-off points. These donations will be collected until August, sorted and given to local school districts so that every student has the supplies needed to learn. Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Maria's Backpacks School Supply Drive in the past!

Maria began her journey at Maryland Heights as a summer camp counselor and got to know many of our young residents. Her love for the kids she encountered was apparent. Shortly after the Community Center opened in 2017, Maria was hired as a Customer Relations Specialist and served the community she loved with her wonderful smile.
