On November 6, St. Louis County voters will decide on two issues that will impact county and municipal finances, particularly those of the City of Maryland Heights—a smoking ban and a gas tax increase. The City included an article in the October 2018 City Newsletter to educate voters on the impact the measures could have on Maryland Heights. To view this article in the newsletter layout, please see pages 3 and 7 of the newsletter available at this link. The information is also presented below.

Please Note: The first referendum, a measure ending exemptions for casinos and more than 90 bars under St. Louis County's seven-year-old smoking ban will appear on ballots here Nov. 6, but the votes on it won't count after an appellate court on Tuesday upheld a lower court's ruling. The Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District affirmed a Sept. 17 decision by Associate Circuit Judge Nicole Zellweger.

Voters can now view the sample ballot for their precinct by going to the election Board website: www.stlouisco.com/yourgovernment/elections and clicking on “Sample Ballot” (see blue boxes near top of page). After agreeing to the terms, voters will enter their address, and on the pop-up screen the voter can click on their sample ballot, view their polling place name, and find it on the map.
