A Message From Mayor Moeller - December/January

Winter is upon us and it's time to gear up for the colder weather. To help with maximum efficiency when removing snow, please remember to move your cars off the street. Our snow plow crews will thank you!

In the December/January issue of MH Life, we've included several tips to follow as the winter weather settles in. Make sure you are prepared for travels whether it be driving the hazardous road conditions or making sure your house is secure when you are away. If you'd rather be hosting guests and are thinking about turning your property into a vacation rental, make sure you check out the new regulations coming

If the winter season is putting a strain on your wallet, please check out the resources listed here and give our Social Worker, Ericka Jones, a call if you need any assistance.

We are looking forward to 2024, as much is happening around town. Included in this newsletter is our Winter/Spring Guide to Parks and Recreation which is packed with entertaining programs and events. Lots of our favorite traditions will be returning this spring such as the St. Patrick's Day Luncheon, the Lucky Leprechaun Hunt, and our Easter Egg Hunts. We are especially looking forward to events at Dogport now that renovations are completed.

Hold on to your hats and grab an extra cup of coffee in the morning to wake up with us. When the City reopens for 2024 on January 2, our hours of operation will be extending 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This change will give our residents and businesses more time to accomplish essential governmental tasks and we will be the first municipality in Missouri to implement such a schedule. We are eager to see how it enhances our city's rhythm.

As I look back on all that occurred in 2023, I'm amazed at how much the City is able to accomplish. We've included photos of some of our favorite moments here. There is much more to come in 2024, as many of the construction projects around town will be finishing up. One of those projects is Toro Energy, which brings us even closer to becoming a greener community. We are thrilled about the progress of yet another location in the city that supports our sustainability goals. This innovative project will be collecting methane from nearby Champ Landfill and converting it into natural gas. Also, we're especially excited about the revitalization of Westport Plaza.

We hope you stay warm, stay safe, and help us make 2024 a year to remember.
