Commercial Building Permits

NOTICE:  The City recently adopted the 2021 International Code Council family of codes with the exception of the International Energy Code (which will remain 2015 as amended).  Until August 13, you have the option of submitting under the 2015 code (as amended) or the 2021 code (as amended).  Applications submitted on August 14 or later will be reviewed under the 2021 code (as amended).  See the ordinance adopting/amending the code here.   


WHAT TO SUBMIT:

To obtain a building permit, please print and complete the application available here.  Submit the application, 3 copies of the construction documents assembled and bound into complete sets, and the minimum permit fee of $200.  The minimum permit fee for signs is $100.

HOW TO SUBMIT IT:
You have two options:

  1. Apply at the front desk of the Government Center at 11911 Dorsett Road, Maryland Heights, MO 63043.  Business hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  2. Mail the items to:  Permits Coordinator, City of Maryland Heights, 11911 Dorsett Road, Maryland Heights, MO 63043.


NEXT STEPS:

Once the plans have been approved, you will be notified regarding any remaining fees due and be given instructions how to pick up the approved permit and plans.
