Maryland Heights is home to Dogport, an off-leash dog park, seven city-operated parks, St. Louis County operated Creve Coeur Park and Fee Fee Greenway, an off-road trail. Click here for pavilion rental information.
All parks are open sunrise to sunset with the exception of City sponsored programs and events.
This four-acre park first opened in 2006 and has long since been a favorite location for our four legged friends up until last summer when a historical amount of rainfall caused flash flooding from nearby Fee Fee Creek. After an extensive planning period, we are excited to announce that construction has begun on the restoration of Dogport!
The improved facility has a focus on mitigating future flood risk and the installation of new shade structures and concrete paths will provide greater accessibility for the entire space. The restored Dogport will have a slightly different look. Instead of the familiar pink granules that were all washed away during the flood, the City will be installing sod that can take high traffic. Also, a key fob system will be installed on the entrance, which will allow easier access for its members. This will also allow the Parks Department the ability to determine the least active times so they are able to sneak in and perform maintenance without disturbing any canines.
Gerald A. Eise Memorial Park is located in the David Meadows Subdivision near Rose Acres Elementary School. This is a neighborhood park and parking is limited to less than ten vehicles. No pavilion reservations will be accepted for Eise Park.
In 2019, Maryland Heights acquired over 10 acres of property, north of the Midland Ave. and Fee Fee Rd. intersection, currently consisting of four baseball fields. Over the next few years, and as part of the Capital Improvement Plan, the City will turn this land into a multi-sport complex with at least three functional fields for play. Improvements have already begun on field one, closest to Fee Fee Rd., and is now available to rent. When not rented, residents may use this field for pickup games, skills development and more. Judy Barnett Memorial Scented Garden: Dedicated on Sept. 24, 2011, the Judy Barnett memorial Scented Garden honors the service and leadership of the late councilwoman. Often considered the “Mother of Maryland Heights,” Councilwoman Barnett was instrumental in the effort to incorporate the City of Maryland Heights, which took place in 1985. She served more than 17 years on the City Council and was a champion of cultural arts in Maryland Heights and the region. The garden challenges you to cover your eyes and identify the plantings by touch and smell. Then you will have experienced the everyday challenge lived by our fellow citizens with visual disabilities.
