Description : The Superintendent of Facilities supervises staff and activities related to the operation of the 
Community Center, Government Center and park facilities, including Aquaport. This position will also assist the Director of Parks and Recreation in planning, directing and coordinating facility maintenance and operations of the Parks and Recreation department.

The pay for this position is $60,831 - $94,664 annually. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises all employees of the park facility division. Specifically plans, schedules and assigns work, provides instruction and monitors performance to assure that tasks are handled efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and training for staff members.
  • Serves as a role model to subordinates and effectively hires, trains, and develops supporting staff.
  • Works with the Department Director to prepare and administer the annual division budget
  • Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans; gathers, 
  • interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations; coordinates department 
  • activities with other departments and agencies as needed.
  • Manages, inspects, and evaluates parks regularly to ensure the safety and general welfare of city 
  • assets; submits recommendations on upkeep, upgrades, or renovation for the enjoyment of the 
  • general public.
  • Determines materials, equipment and supplies needed to complete work, coordinates acquisition, 
  • and is accountable for the use thereof, both inside and outside of the parks.
  • Prepares specifications and bid solicitations for park equipment, pavilions, supplies, and tree 
  • enhancement
  • Develops policies and procedures related to the use, operation and maintenance of all park 
  • facilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires high school diploma or equivalent and at least ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in repair and maintenance of facilities, five years of which should be in a supervisory capacity over facility operations. Comprehensive knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance of a variety of different types of buildings also required. A valid commercial driver license is also required. Certified Playground Safety Inspector credentials required within 12 months of appointment.
