TRIM Grant Gives Trees Extra Care

The Missouri Department of Conservation awarded a Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) grant for over $16,000.00 to the City of Maryland Heights.

This grant is being used to update the inventory and condition of over 5,000 street trees and approximately 2,000 trees in the city’s parks. The city hired Davey Resource Group to manage the process of updating the City's tree inventory, as well as preparing a long-term tree management plan for Maryland Heights based on the newly updated tree conditions.

Using the updated inventory and the new tree management plan,  the public works operations division and the parks maintenance staff will continue to provide for the proper care of the city’s urban forest, with a more comprehensive understanding of the needs of our city's ecosystem. A healthy and thriving urban forest helps clean the air, cool the city and improves resident’s lives.
