April 2023 Candidate Filing Dates
On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, residents will go to the polls to elect one City Council member in each of the city’s four wards to a term of two years. These local elections are an important way for residents to get involved in the direction the city takes - and sometimes, become the person who helps lead the way!
Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 candidates may file with the City Clerk at the Maryland Heights Government Center, 11911 Dorsett Rd. After that date, candidates may file during business hours (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday). The deadline for filing is Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
To be eligible to run, a candidate must be at least 21 years old prior to taking office, a U.S. citizen, a resident of the city for the full year preceding the election and a resident of the ward from which he or she is elected for at least six months prior to election.
