Registration Now Open for Citizen's Police Academy
The MHPD will continue its tradition of providing citizens with a behind-the-scenes look at police operations through the 2023 Citizen's Police Academy. During this extensive ten-week course, residents will learn about various elements of law enforcement including: investigative procedures, policing practices, equipment and technology, traffic laws and community policing.
The Academy will meet from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, weather permitting, at the Government Center, 11911 Dorsett Road. Classes will begin on Tuesday, February 7 and run through Tuesday, April 11. The 2023 Academy will conclude with a graduation ceremony. If you are interested in registering, applications will become available at the Police Department and online at www.marylandheights.com/academy from December 1 until January 23. Residents must be at least 18 years old to enroll and a background check will be performed on all applicants.
