Trash Talk: Rules For the Can

We love being able to provide robust municipal services for our community, including free trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup for our residents funded by tax revenue. In order to ensure that this service runs as smoothly as possible, we wanted to refresh everyone on the basics of waste pickup. Let's talk trash!

Residential waste containers and yard waste should be placed at the road no more than 12 hours prior to the regularly scheduled collection day, and returned to their storage area on the same day as collection. Containers should be stored behind the front face of the home, in a location which results in minimal exposure to the street. If you are having issues bringing your cans to the curb, enlist the help of neighbors or call Republic Services at 636-947-5959.

For residents that live next to commercial properties, City code limits trash collection on non-residential properties within 500 feet of residential properties to the hours between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Collection outside those hours can be reported to the Police Department at (314) 298-8700.
