Street Sweeper is Named in Community Contest

In April, we released the "Name the Street Sweeper" contest. We collected name suggestions from the public and received 98 submissions! City staff then voted to narrow the list down to the top ten: Lightning McClean, Dusty Rhoads, The Grim Sweeper, Curbie, Sweeping Beauty, Sweep Caroline, Meryl Sweep, Kirby the Curb Cleaner, Broomhilda, and Sweepy McSweepface. These top ten names were put to a public vote from April 29 - May 14 and we are very excited to announce the winner of our "Name the Street Sweeper" contest!

Congratulations to Torey H. for their submission! The votes are in and the new 2023 Elgin RegenX Street Sweeper's official name is "Lightning McClean!" Next time you see it out and about, give them a friendly wave! Thank you to everyone who participated!
