Summer Concerts & Pop-Up Markets

summer concertsAre you ready to jam with your neighbors at a neighborhood park near you? Summer concerts are back and better than ever! The Parks and Recreation Department has selected a diverse line-up of bands and musicians from around the region to provide a series of monthly concerts for residents and visitors this summer.

Genres range from top-40 hits and "one-hit-wonders" to classic rock, 80s hits, and bluegrass. There is surely something for everyone!

If you have loved our traditional pop-up markets at the Community Center, you are in for a treat! In addition to live music, the Parks and Recreation Department is enhancing the concert experience this year by incorporating pop-up markets at select summer concerts.

Guests will be able to shop from a variety of vendor booths, selling handmade, homemade, and homegrown items.

"Our summer concerts draw in not only residents, but also visitors from neighboring communities," said Jennifer Van Dyke. "We are excited to create more opportunity for audience members to engage with the arts and for our communities to connect."

Concerts will alternate monthly between Vago and Parkwood Parks. All concerts are free and welcome people of all ages. Bands will play from 7:00-9:00 p.m. At the pop-up markets, guests may browse vendors before or during the concerts from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Prior to the August 16 concert, children are invited to play gaga ball and enjoy a snack at Fun in the Park in Parkwood Park. This event is free and begins at 5:30 p.m.

So, pack up your chairs, blankets, coolers, and snacks to join us for a concert in the park this summer. For a complete lineup, check out the Summer Staycation Guide in this issue of MH Life or online at
