The City of Maryland Heights is accepting applications for the Head Lifeguard in its Aquatics Center. Lifeguards will work a varied schedule that will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Individuals hired for this position must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. As a safety sensitive position, lifeguards are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Starting pay for this position is $13.50 an hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provide a safe aquatic environment for patrons of the City's aquatic facilities by following Star Guard Lifeguard training, CPR/AED, first aid and established emergency action procedures. This position is also responsible for the operation of the aquatic facility and the supervision of its employees in cooperation and absence of the Pool Manager and Aquatics Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- General knowledge of pool maintenance, chemicals and policies.
- Ability to act quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of daily operations.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. objects.
- Maintain a professional and mature attitude toward responsibilities, fellow staff and patrons.
- Work effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the public.
- Must be flexible to work mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
